A journey from New York’s financial sector to Ecuador’s premier real estate expert

2000…

Wall Street Beginnings

Amy’s story begins far from the Pacific breeze of Salinas or the Andean air of Cotacachi. It begins in New York, where she built her early professional life in the finance sector. She earned her MBA in Finance and worked for several respected firms, where she held Series 7, 63, and 65 licenses, and served as Compliance Officer as well as Director of Operations.

2006

First Ecuador Visit

In 2006, Amy traveled solo through Ecuador, exploring its landscapes, people, and possibilities. That journey would become a turning point in her life and career path, revealing a country with incredible potential and beauty that would soon become her home.

2007

The Bold Move

In June of 2007, Amy made the bold decision to leave her corporate career behind and relocated full-time to Ecuador with just 2 suitcases, a one-way airline ticket, and nothing lined up. Originally landing in Quito, she sought a city with modern amenities yet old-world charm that would become her base for a new chapter.

2008

Real Estate Career Begins

By early 2008, she had settled in the coastal town of Salinas and began her real estate career—something that would quickly become a calling. Initially offering Property Management services as well as Rentals, soon she was known as the only bilingual go-to person for real estate. In 2010, she took the real estate course and became the first ‘gringa‘ to obtain an Ecuadorian Real Estate License (#166-G), which remains active today.

2013-2017

A True Pioneer

Amy opened Pioneer Realty and became Broker/Owner of the first Re/Max real estate office in Salinas. Under her leadership, the boutique agency thrived, and she received repeated accolades—including three consecutive Executive Club Awards (2014–2016) and several Top Broker Awards, establishing her reputation for excellence in Ecuador’s real estate market.

2017 – Today

National Brand

Over the years, the Amy Prisco Agency has expanded its reach far beyond Salinas and coastal real estate. The highland town of Cotacachi has been a favorite of Amy’s since her first Ecuador visit, explaining her popularity there. Mindo became a new Agency real estate destination in 2022, and Cuenca is now on the horizon, as are other future locations. With her fully rebranded Amy Prisco Agency, she’s positioned herself as Ecuador’s premier real estate expert for expats and investors alike.
